Indianapolis Christian Writer’s Conference

On November 5, 2011, I attended the Indianapolis Christian Writer’s Conference in Fishers, IN with nearly 100 or more writers at the Wesleyan Church World Headquarters. The facility was beautiful and with state of the art technology and amenities. I can truly say that I enjoyed myself. Because it is a Christian writer’s conference, there was a room filled with Christians and included on the program is a time of worship. I mapped out my strategy for the day. I attended a workshop for fiction writers which I am now working on a Christian fiction book. This book is taking me way out of my comfort zone but, is exciting all at the same time. There will be more to come about that upcoming book by summer of 2012. Secondly, I attended a workshop about something that I had no experience in and that was being a journalist. It was an interesting workshop. I don’t know if I will pursue that area of writing actively. I have made an informed decision by attending that workshop. Next workshop was titled, “Your Writing, His Word” and was clearly in my currently writing area of devotionals, etc. This workshop gave me information and resources for submitting my writing to inspirational publications. Finally, there were three different panels of experts that fielded questions from writers about non-fiction, fiction, publishing, promotions, sales and editors. The entire conference was informative and enlightening. I encourage any writer to attend a writer’s conference or workshop whether in person or online to better hone their skills and expand their writing scope. The pictures from the conference are below, so enjoy!
